Supplemental Content: Living Well with Migraine Disease and Headaches

Putting Our Heads Together

Poetry Contest 2006

Call for Entries

Whether you've never written a word in your life or write every day, we invite you to enter our Putting Our Heads Together Poetry Contest 2006.

Writing can be very therapeutic, as can reading what others have written. Migraine disease and headaches can impact our lives more than many other people could ever imagine. Thus, we'd like you to combine writing with your experience with and feelings about Migraine disease and headaches to produce poetry that you can share.

This contest isn't about prizes. It's about expressing ourselves and reaching others through poetry. Thus, although there will be some certificates and prizes, we're not going to announce them. We will award and announce the following "places:"

  • Best of Show

  • First Prize

  • Second Prize

  • Third Prize

  • Honorable Mention (number of Honorable Mention awards to be determined by the judges)

All poetry that is submitted and meets the rules and criteria will be published on Help for Headaches and Migraine in April, which is National Poetry Month in the U.S.

Judging: Our friends at MAGNUM, the National Migraine Association, will be judging the entries. Entries will be presented to the judges with numbers only, no names. Unless you specify otherwise, your name will be posted on your poetry when it's published here.

Please join us and submit your poem. Submit more than one if you like! For the contest rules and criteria and our entry form, please click HERE.
