there is no peace
in this solitude
it holds no answers
and prevails all attitude

it surrounds
every step
deep within
defying all concept

only described
by experience
as a warden
in every sense

there are no boundaries
it will not cross over
or any dreams
it will not conquer

you're at its mercy
once its choice is made
there is no action
it cannot evade

no amount of money
or good intention
will alter its course
there is no salvation
