Headache and Migraine Glossary
Medical terminology can be extremely
confusing. Rather than avoiding it, it's beneficial to us to learn the
terms we're likely to hear from our doctors.
Cohort:
a group of individuals with some characteristics in common.
This term is most often seen
in discussions of clinical trials.
Example: The purpose
of Kurth's study of the Physician's Health Study was to
evaluate the association between migraine and risks of
overall and specific CVD in a large prospective cohort of
middle-aged men.
