Trying to Hide the Pain
by Gina J

I try to push on, but God Iím not strong
How many years will I have this pain?
I try to pretend, through smiles again, only to cry at night

I ask why me? Please hear my prayer and answer me
Day after day, pill after pill, take away my free will
I want to live Lord, please forgive Lord, if I yell and scream your name
They donít understand, Iím in my own land, trying to hide the pain

I donít feel good, doctors am I understood? Canít you help me stop this pain?
I want to hide away, close my eyes. Please take it away!
Iím in the dark now; the pounding slows down, how long before I drift away
Go away please I beg you on my knees, When I wake will you still be here?

They try to sympathize, I see the hurt in their eyes, when they turn and walk away
Again Iím calling in canít function or win. Please Lord Iím in despair
How can I complete the task, when I hide behind this mask of pain?

I feel blessed within, but my head ouch the pins!
Give me back my Joy, turn this frown upside down
Once again I pray, Please God take it away!
