Volcanic Collapse
by Patricia Frolander
Aura. Anguish.
Agony. Don’t know, don’t care who or where I am, as cerebral plates collide in the explosion of molten migraine.
I flee to darkness, quiet— try to hide from flare after flare
of neurons.
Finally peace. Exhaustion. Ashes.
Caldera remains. Recovery, relief. Function returns. Frenetic pace of catching up
until the next eruption.
