Donating to Migraine Research in Someone's Name
Is a Wonderful Gift

Choosing gifts for someone with Migraines can be quite challenging. For many of us, some common gift items can be Migraine triggers -- perfumes and fragrance bath products, scented candles and other items to scent the home, chocolate, and more.

One thing we all need is for Migraine to be better understood and to have more and better treatment options. The biggest obstacle to this is lack of adequate research funding.

If you're having difficulty selecting a gift for someone with Migraines, making a donation to Migraine research, in their name, is a wonderful gift. This has been done for me several times now, and I always appreciate it.

Here are some nonprofit organizations that fund Migraine research:

The American Migraine Foundation (AMF) is a non-profit foundation supported by the American Headache Society and generous donors dedicated to the advancement of migraine research. The mission of this newly formed foundation is to support innovative research that will lead to improvement in the lives of those who suffer from migraine and other disabling headaches. The purpose of the Migraine Research Foundation (MRF) is to raise funds for migraine research. Please help ensure that our important work continues. Every donation moves us a step closer to learning migraine's secrets and, ultimately, to finding a cure. All our operating costs are underwritten, so your donation goes directly to fund migraine research. You can learn more about the MRF and / or make a donation from their web site.

The National Headache Foundation (NHF) also funds some Migraine and headache research, although that is not their only focus. You can find a list of research projects they have funded and /or make a donation through their web site.
